Vanrock E101 Portable Record Lathe
Extremely rare Japanese record lathe from the 80\'s.In great cosmetic condition, see photos for details.Very easy to use, has a built in RIAA EQ, compressor (which can be bypassed) and simple controls. The platter moves from the left to the right side (the cutting position) and when finished cutting automatically moves to the resting postion. For 7\' at 33 or 45 and mono with a frequency response of 60hz to 8khz.Currently setup to emboss on Polycarbonate disks, (simply turn the stylus backwards and adjust the weight) but can also cut on Acetate and has a heating circuit for the stylus built in when cutting Acetate disks.
For Polycarbonate (which is what most so called \'Lathe Cut\' records are cut on)
use a lamp to heat the blank before cutting, I use a small lamp with a 200 Watt bulb which works well. This lathe is great working condition, and comes with a sapphire cutting stylus and 2 blank disks to get you started.Additional styli can be bought from Apollo (USA) or Transco (Europe) and they are the \'long shank\' Presto type. The only very slight issue is occasionally the platter doesn\'t start the slide over to the right, but just needs a slight nudge to set it on its way!If you don\'t know about it already then visit the \'Lathetrolls\' forum, which is an excellent place for all things cutting related!I posted the manual and some info on the machine on this thread, check it out! I will give detailed instructions and support after to the winning buyer so buy with confidence!Runs on 100V so you may need a transformer depending on your country.Shipping is with EMS EXPRESS AIR Shipping (with full tracking and insurance). This usually takes around a week. For South America / Africa / Israel - please contact me for a shipping quote.
Please note - that the shipping cost does NOT include any import duty - so please check with your local customs to find out what the cost would be if you incur these charges. Thanks for looking!
