Reading Crusader Famous Train No. 1

Model Train

LOCOMOTIVE AND COAL CAR

This Vintage Reading Crusader(117) had remained in its original box, likely in some closet for so long that its foam cushion decomposed and became pulverized under it. The last photo included is of the train set prior to my cleaning the foam flakes off with a low-pressure air blower. Some remains but it looks like it can be nicely cleaned by one who knows what he\'s doing. I was able to move some of the minimalresidue with my thumbnail with very little effort. I elected Not to use a liquid cleaner on it.

Admittedly, my knowledge of model trains is limited(if not non-existent), so I\'ll give the best physical description I can. That said....

The Locomotive is 7-1/4 inches long x 1-3/8 inches wide x 2 inches high(drive wheels to top). it weighs in at 486.7 Grams.

The Coal car is 5 3/8 inches and weighs in at 183.7 Grams

All of the connections I can see from the outside are in tact displaying NO CORROSIONand my \"vintage\" electronics background tells me that the train is powered by a small DC motor. All of their parts appear to be in tact as well(see photos). All secondarywheels turn freely. I do not have a converter, so I have not put power to the motor. I do not see any red flags though...

This Offering is accompanied by the photo\'d brass plaque identifying it as...

ADDENDUM!

In response to numerous inquiries, I used a Q-Tip & acetone to brush a small portion of the locomotive. In the last photo one can see that it revealed a smooth, polished surface. The winner can finish it....
