PROVENANCE: For a few years now we have been purchasing/consigning items from the Gaston Estate through a direct family member. This is the estate of the late William Gaston, who was a reknown Governor of Massachusetts. William Gaston was the great grandfather of the late Anne (Howard) Karri-Davies who was the wife of the late Walter T. C. Karri-Davies who was of course the son of the subject. I do not have this information on paper but it is readily available on the web.

This is an unbelievable find and a great piece of Australian and British war history. All of these medals belonged to Boer War Hero and partial founder of the Imperial Light Horse Major (then Lieutenant Colonel) Walter Karri-Davies.

The picture shown is taken from the website \"FOR AN AUSTRALIAN THE BOER WAR MEMORIAL\" listed This website has a lot of information of the recipient of these medals.

I do not profess to be an expert on this era but there is a lot of information about Major thenLieutenant Colonel Walter Karri-Davies on the web which can be obtained through Google.
