So what is an Ami Continental replica?

We decided to design a Jukebox with the same unmistakable style as an original but using a modern mechanism and for a fraction of the cost of an original. The main brief of the design was ease of construction and to keep costs to a minimum.

How much do they cost to build?

Excluding the dome, mural and doner Jukebox around £100.How easy are they to make? By following the easy to understand instructions, anybody who can put a shelf up can make one.

There are no fancy woodworking joints and you need no knowledge of metalwork-its all explained in the guide. No specialist tools are required, just the basics.

How long to build one?Around 40 hours for the cabinet and 20 hours to transfer the mech.

Where canI buy the materials ?

We decided to make the build easy, 90% of the materials can be bought locally from your local diy store (B & Q / Depot) all wood, paints, metalwork. We sell the domes and the murals etc please see oure bay shop.

What about the insides ?

We decided to use the Rowe Ami R 8x series mechs (R82, R83 etc) They are cheapand can be bought on for less than £100.

They are a bullet proof mechanism and need no modification except the buttons. Any jukebox mech can be used including cd'sas long as the mechanismmeasures less than 500mm x 600mm and use keypad buttons not mechanical buttons, most 1980's onward s

Part 1 Details making the body and title rack.,
