Early to mid 1850s monkey jug as indicated by the bulbous shape tapering to a smallbase. Measures 11\" tall x 4 1/2\" base. Only one other is known to exist. I would describe the color as dark gray. There is thought it could be a Kentucky or Virginia piece but can\'t positively say. This was found in Virginia but the other in Kentucky. It belongs in a museum somewhere. If you are the winner I would advise against trying to remove the screw.
