THIS IS A SUPERB VALUABLE ANTIQUE OF MY WIFES GRANDFATHERS.
A STRIKING SUPERBLY MADE TROPHY, THREE CROSSED OARS TIED WITH ROPE SUPPORTING A CUP OR GOBLET TOP.
The Trophy has been dedicated and says.....R.B.C ..1900...Challenge fours...won by ...\'The Port Defence\'...Bow Capt Scoones RVA....2nd Capt McVittie RA....3rd 2Lt Pice RVA...Str 2nd Lt Morrison....Cox G.Fell.
The only reference I have come across to the RBC is the Riverside Boat Club, but I am unconvinced the Acronym relates to that club. Very suggestive of a naval team winning especially as it has named itself \'The Port Defence\' but I do not know if that means a harbour race in seawater or a river rowing race. I also don\'t now what the winning teams initials mean, RV & RVA. If someone knows would they email me to let me know. Thanks.

My Postal/Shipping prices will almost always be higher than average and that is simply because it matters to me that your item turns up; turns up in one piece; and that the things my family have amassed over the years are not broken or lost. I will only post by recorded delivery. I will use special delivery if your item exceeds the insurance Royal Mail offer on the recorded service. If an item is too big I will use Parcelforce. I invariable use brand new postal boxes, bubble wrap and newspaper. They cost money and this will be passed on to you via the postal price. If you don\'t like these conditions please don\'t email me and waste my time by negotiating, just don\'toffer on the item. I am flexible over personal collection, a mutually convenient meeting point close to where I live can almost always be arranged. I will ship abroad for most items except the heavy ones, but again the service I use will only be Royal Mail International tracked and signed, so If you are from outside the UK,email me for a shipping quotePRIOR TO offerDING, if you don\'t, don\'t argue with me over the shipping fee after the sale has ended.
