Offered here is a superb antique heavy brass Morse telegraph key with locking bar in a mahogany case. The base of the key is fixed inside the box by means of three large brass screws. The case measures 6 3/4\" x 4 1/4\" x 4\". The key is in excellent undamaged condition as per photos below and appears in full working order. The case is likewise in good sound condition. There are no makers marks but this is a very well made instrument of obvious quality and great eye appeal. It is offered here with a low price start and .

I have been informed that this key is a very rare British Admiralty Masthead Light Signalling Key as used on board ships of the Royal Navy from the late 19th century up to and including the First World War. Examples are known made by Player & Mitchell of Birmingham although this one seems entirely unmarked.
