Description Areally wonderfulEnglish antiqueearly Victorian solid sterling silver & faceted crystal glass travelling lock-down inkwell by the silversmith Frances Douglas and with a full set of English silver hallmarks forLondon 1852.Beautiful quality genuine 163 year old example,in excellent clean condition, honestly looks virtually unused. Has a heavy glass bottle with a solid silver top, with hinged silver lid and is complete with its original silver screw key. Decorated with attractive engraved scroll-work and inside its has its original interior leatherseal with silver securing plate. There are no engraved monograms or crests in the cartouche.

Date English antique Victorian solid sterling silver with a full set of silver hallmarks for London 1852(gothic date letter \"R\").Superb clear struck marks in numerous places, with further matching marks on the silver screw key. Includes the Queens head duty stamp of Queen Victoria.

ConditionExcellent clean condition,honestly looks hardly used. Nosplits or cracks to the silver, no solder repairs and no knocks or dents.The silver screw key screws up tightly and securely. The faceted crystal glass bottle is also in great condition, no nasty chips, cracks or hairlines. The interior leather seal looks to be totally original and in pristine condition. Attractive decorative engraving and with no added personal monograms or crests.Stunning example, one of the best I have had.
