Description Awonderful large-sizedvery rare English antique solid sterling silver \"novelty\" pin cushion in the form abulldog by the silversmiths Adie& Lovekin Ltd, and with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1905. Excellent quality genuine 109 year old sterling silverexample, (definitely not a modern re-production),inlovely conditionand with good detail. Complete with its interior padded cushion which is covered in an old green plush velvet. No added personal engraved inscriptions ormonograms.Weighs 66grams.
Measurements Large size, measures approx.2.9 inches (73mm)in length x1.15 inches (29mm) wide and stands 2.15 inches (54mm) in height. Date Antique Edwardian solid sterling silver,with a full set of English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1905, (date letter \"f\").Excellent clear struck marks, not worn away from over-polishing.MakerSilversmiths initials \"A & L Ld\", (Adie & Lovekin Ltd).ConditionLovely condition,no splits or cracks to the silver, no obvious solder repairs and no nasty knocks or dents either, a few very minor little shallow surface bruises, really nothing much at all and abeautiful example.Still with great detail and the silver tail is undamaged. No rips or tears to the velvet covering and there are no added personal engraved inscriptions.Stunning very scarce item.
