Very good condition original Swiss Model 1878 artillerysawback short sword that was made in German and is maker marked to WEYERSBERGKIRSCHBAUM on the blade with a Swiss cross proof mark. Massive 19 ¾” blade hasbeautiful original bright metal finish with just a few spots of brown and grayand has been sharpened. Sawteeth are sharp and crisp. Brass guard and pommelhave nice patina. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit withstrong original checkering, no damage. Fitted in correct original leatherscabbard that has brass throat and tip. Leather is soft and supple with somewear, stitched seam has come apart. A very hard to find early Swiss militarysawback sword that will make a superb addition to your collection and animpressive display piece.
