What a splendid example of country folk art at its finest.
Racks such as this served various functions in an early country farmstead home. The three hooks on the rack served the purpose of suspending various cooking utensils, dried herbs and even fowl and game as it awaited to be prepared.
All blacksmith made, you can see the metalsmith who created this was a true artisan, working in a marvelous array of curled decorations on the center and arch of the piece.
