This sale includes two1958 10 1/2\" vintage American Character Toni Dollswearing their original outfits. One is blonde; the other is a redhead. Hair is styled in a short flip and there areno missing plugs. Both dolls have hard vinyl bodies with tightpose-ablelimbs and an evenskin tone. There areno stains, dents, odors or broken fingers. Each doll is marked \"American Character 1958\" in an incised circle on her lower back.

1958 \"Tea Time\" Outfit (Blonde Doll):

• Pink rayon taffeta dress with puffy sleeves, a full skirt, white trim at the neck and black bridal button edging at the hemline. Back has 2 square snaps.
• Removable widesculptedbelt inblack velveteen which is fastened with a pink grosgrain ribbon.
• Natural straw hat accented with a black velvet hatband.
• Black plastic pumps
• Lace half slip and white panties (these are not original to the doll).
• Outfit is in excellent condition.

1958 \"Cocktails\" Outfit (Redhead Doll):

• Sleeveless party dress with a black velveteen bodice and a sweetheart neckline. The flared skirt is made of blackChantillylace over pink satin. Along sash of pink chiffon departs the bodice to drape over the shoulders and cascade prettily down the back of the dress. Tiny ribbed gold hoops on the bodice and back hold the sash in place. Back has 2 square snaps.
• The full nylon half slip is trimmed with a black edged white tulle ruffle.
• Black open toes shoes
• Sparkling natural rhinestone necklace and matching earrings.

Flaws:

• Teatime: There is a hole the size of a pinprick on the back of the skirt. It is so tiny that I wasn\'t able to photograph and I just noticed it for the first time today.
• Cocktails Dress: Some of the lace is torn on the skirt (on the right side at the bottom). There are lace two tears close together. One is approx. 1 inch in diameter and the other is approx. 1/2 inches. Suprisingly, and despite their size, these tears are hardly noticeable perhaps due to the open weave of the lace. Please see photograph #9 for a better description.
• Cocktails Slip: The elastic waistband has been replaced and the top portion of the slip reinforced with interfacing so that it won\'t tear.
• White panties (not original)
