U.S. Civil War Springfield Musket Rifle Model 1864 1866 3 Band Stock Full Length
Price: US $250.25
Here is a decent, mid-grade, usable, full length stock, buttplate, nose cap, guard, band springs and lock washers for the Model 1866 Springfield rifle as converted from the Model 1863 type II musket.Theseare made with both oil finished and varnished stocks. This is an oil finished version. All parts are clearly original to this stock. It has the O and L firing proofs and the Civil War ESA as well as the 1866 inspector\'s stamp HSH? interestingly stamped over the ESA. You can see the stock clearly has all the original oil finished type, unaltered surface finish but also has bumps, bruises and a crack that curves around in front of the lock, a chip at the top front of the lock recess as well as the usual short crack from the rear lock screw washer to the edge of the stock. The sling swivelmoves freely. The metal has a thick, long attic storage type brown patina. I think the pictures really tell the story best and suggest you study them closely. I will have other parts from this musket up until they are all gone. Noattempt has been made to glue the stock or to remove the metal as the metal parts are best left alone. It will damage them and the stock to attempt it. We have all seen too many damaged stocks on from just such attempts. The stock will be very carefully packed in peanuts and bubble wrap. We know how hard the shippers are on boxes! Shipping for AK, HI and PR will obviously be more than what is shown. We automatically refund all excess shipping over a dollar and we don\'t charge for the peanuts and the bubble even though it costs us money. It\'s a small way of saying thank you for purchasing from us. Please look for our other sales of lamp parts, musket parts and Lionel items in the coming months.
