This very rare Quartz Butterfly bannerstone was found in Calhoun Co, Illinois by legendary collector Walter Wadlow, the namesake for the Wadlow blades. This piece was then sold to E.K. Petrie of Burlington, Wisconsin, who was a artifact dealer in the 1950\'s and 60\'s. The piece then traveled to the Collection of Ed Meiners of Alton, Illinois who was a past president of the Illinois Archaeological society, from there it traveled to the collection of Stan Edwards, who sold it to Dale Roberts of Iowa, a former Iowa Archaeological Society president.
