Presenting here at this evenings first sale, an extremely rare Shelley china, Ripon shaped black chintz cup and saucer, in pristine condition. No chips, cracks or repairs of any kind. The saucer measures 5 5/8\" in diameter and the cup stands 3\" high. The saucer rim is trimmed in gold. The rim of the cup is also gold trimmed. The handle and footed base of the cup, are all finished in gold as well. The cup interior is finished in an eggshell white. Both the saucer and cup are stamped marked on the base. In over 20 years of buying and selling, this is the first example of black chintz I have had the opportunity to own. An absolutely stunningly beautiful and dramatic chintz design.
