Very large, white, antique Imperial Ironstone China gourd-shaped pitcher featuring the Victorian cable and ring relief design.
I believe it was produced by Cockson & Chetwynd from 1866-1872. The black ink mark on the bottom is smudged so I cannot be positive.
The pitcher measures 12 1/2\" tall, and 8\" wide from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle. It weighs approximately 4 1/2 lbs. without packaging.
The pitcher is in beautiful antique condition, considering it is approximately 140 years old. The is a small split in the pottery on the top of the handle that most likely occurred during firing - it is glazed. There are some chips on the bottom, reflecting many years of use. Other than these things, the pitcher is a stunning example of Imperial Ironstone China.
Please look closely at photos as they are an important part of the description.
The pitcher will be carefully packaged and fully insured.
