DESCRIPTION: This is an old 1920’s cast iron toy taxi cab that was made by Freidag, who was a competitor of Arcade. Both companies were based about 5 blocks apart in Freeport, Illinois. It features wheels that roll, and a cast-in driver.

MATERIALS: All cast iron

DIMENSIONS: Measures about 5-1/8 inches long.

CONDITION: Overall in GOOD, SOLID CONDITION with ORIGINAL PAINT. The cast iron is all good with no chips, cracks, or breaks. It has lots of paint chips and paint wear. Both front wheels have notches or dips in the inner sidewall. I think this a manufacturing flaw, and does not affect the displayability of the toy. Also, the front axle has a bend in it. The spare tire / license plate holds on well, but is very loose. At least, it is still there, because it is usually missing.

This is a great old taxi cab to add to any taxi, or antique toy collection. It will look good with Arcade, Hubley, Freidag, or Kenton cast iron toy cars.
