A 1920 era porcelain Chicago Motor Club yellow shield stop sign. Measures 18 inches tall and 17 inches wide. Made by the Veribrite Signs Co out of Chicago Illinois. Has two mounting holes with one in the letter \"O\" in STOP having the original grommet. The second mounting hole looks to be original as well for it\'s the same size as the top hole, in perfect alignment and the top hole is 5.25 inches from top shield point and the bottom hole is 5.25 inches up from the bottom shield point. The bottom mounting hole has lost it\'s grommet. Has scratches and light nics to the porcelain. Rust in the far upper left corner. Scratches near the \"S\" in Stop and the \"ou\" in Boulevard are deeper scratches. Chipping to the outer porcelain edges with very slight metal loss. No fading of colors but it looks like a very small touchup of yellow paint near the bottom mounting hole by the \"M\" in motor. The glass porcelain has popped off around the hole and it might just be the regular yellow paint with no glass fused over it. Definitely wanted to point that out. The far upper left and upper right sharp corners have been bent back long ago so not to scratch or harm anyone. The very bottom sharp point of the shield has been chipped off. No bends or dents to the metal. Sign lays perfectly flat. Back of sign mostly clean. Please look closely at pictures to get better idea of condition. A wonderful bright yellow porcelain stop sign which isn\'t seen too often. Veribrite Sign Company was in business from 1915 until 1965. Shipping will be 15.00 to the lower 48 states.
