Material Sterling Silver, natural amethyst
This necklace has a striking design with floral pendants that have“coffee bean” petals and a natural amethyst center. The pendants are flat at the back so the necklace lays flush when worn. The natural amethyst stones are a rich purple and beautifully matched across the necklace. There are no chips or surface wear to the amethyst and they are softly domed in shape jutting outward from the center of the flower. There are no dents or irregularities to the shape of the flowers and there are no signs of solder or repair. The silver has a bright patina that shows off the charming detail and silverwork. The style of chain and certainly the clasp are not typical of Mexican pieces so these are perhaps from a repair. The pendants are definitely Mexican. Overall this is a well made and uniquely designed, silver and amethyst necklace, made in Mexico during the 1940s that is in very good condition.
