Recently acquired out of a private estate, we are able to offer this exceptionally fine quality ~ SO3C-1 WWII NAVY SEAMEW DESK MODEL AIRPLANE ~. This desk model is made out of bronze or brass and is chrome plated. This is an original factory made WWII presentation desk model. The Curtiss Seamew was only made for a few years from about 1939-1942 and it looks like less than 800 were ever made. This was a Reconnaissance / Observation Floatplane and it just did not work out as they had planned. We have never seen another original WWII desk model of the Curtiss SO3C-1 Seamew floatplane, and imagine it is a pretty rare item. The condition on this is exceptionally nice with only very minor expected wear from age and handling. It measures just over 7 inches across by 6 3/4 inches long and is 4 3/4 inches tall. It has an amazing, high quality hefty feel when holding it, and weighs 2.2 pounds. This would make a wonderful addition to any serious desk model collection.
