At sale is a Prominent II rangefinder camera made by Voigtlander of Germany in 1958 and 1960. The camera accepts interchangeable lenses. The camera uses standard 35mm film in standard cassettes to produce 24X36 negatives. The Synchro-Compur shutter, with speeds B, 1 - 500, works well at all speeds except for the 1 sec. that is somewhat slow. The shutter speed dial moves smoothly and easily. This camera has a combination viewfinder and rangefinder that is clean and clear with no fungus, haze or dust. The rangefinder has a bright focusing spot and it is well aligned. The viewfinder has frame lines for all of the lenses that were available for this camera (35mm, 50mm, 100mm, and 150mm. The highly desirable, coated 50mm f/1.5 Nokton lens is clean and clear with no fungus, or haze. The aperture control ring works smoothly and easily. The diaphragm blades and shutter blades are free of oil, grease and rust. The focus control knob (on the top of the camera) moves smoothly and easily. The camera is in excellent+ cosmetic condition with only very minor signs of use. The leather covering is in fine shape all over the body. There are no dents, dings or brassing anywhere. All camera and lens functions work well with the exception of the 1 sec. shutter speed. the camera will come with the original lens cap and the original instruction manual. This camera is fully usable and would be a very reliable camera with a great high-speed lens. This would also be a great prize for a collector.
