In the spotlight for your offerding consideration is this vintage 1940’s “Jump Jump the Elf of Holiday House” character doll from the early days of radio! Samson R. Diamond was the creator of the juvenile stories featuring the little elves. This was a very popular children’s series that spawned a number of merchandise tie-ins, including this cute little composition and cloth doll. The little poem shown in the last picture sums up pretty well what this little fellow is all about.

There were many storylines for the busy little elves, and in this case we have a cowboy character. Standing 4” tall, he is made with a wire armature underneath his cloth covering. The head is made from molded composition, and the felt clad feet have a weighted metal inside that allows the doll to stand freely. This cowboy is dressed in a cotton striped shirt with a green and white bandana. He wears lambswool chaps and has retained his original lasso, tied on his wrist from the factory. His molded composition head is modeled with big ears, a cheeky smile, and hand painted, side-glancing eyes. A tiny tuft of red Mohair peeks out from under the brim of his felt cowboy hat.
