Vintage bamboo fly fishing rod with fabric sock and aluminum tube. A little cursory research indicates this is a Wright & McGill Granger rod made for the Marshall Field Store For Men. This is a three piece rod with an extra tip- a total of 4 pieces.
From the estate of a collector.His note attached to the tube reads:GRANGER 8040 8' 4 wt"Needs polished & straighten"
No breaks. No loose or missing ferrules or guides. One tip is shorter than the other 3 sections. The longer tip has a slight bend to it. We notice the wrap just above the cork extends over the printed name on the rod-- perhaps rewrapped there??Unmarked aluminum tube has NO cap, wear, scratches. Unmarked fabric sock is good, used.
Our consignor bought a number of rods from the estate of a collector. We don't know if the sock and/or tube is original to the rod- it came to us just as you see it.
