Waterman 3v fountain pen circa 1930s in green marble with red flecks, chrome trim.

Beautiful pen with nice bright color and glossy plastic. This is the successor of the 52v, the short version of the workhorse 52. It is short, but just as wide as the 52, and has Waterman\'s #2 nib.

The nib is fine (maybe on the medium side, see the writing samples) with no pressure, and gets fairly wide with pressure. It\'s moderately soft, requiring some pressure for the tines to spread, not a lot, but it\'s not a \'wet noodle\'. The line contrast is quite significant, and the pen is lots of fun to use. It\'s good for everyday use, but really shines when called on to produce pointed-pen calligraphy styles like copperplate or spencerian. See the writing samples.

Lever filler, restored and working with a new sac installed. Length is about 4 1/4 inches.

The writing samples are made using the pen itself, dipped in black Parker Quink ink. The paper is a Rhodia pad with 5mm squares.
