WATERMAN 52V VEST-LENGTH RIPPLE PEN c1920s, VERY FINE FLEX NIB, RESTORED
Price: US $191.49

Waterman 52v in red ripple hard rubber, 1920s. This is the short version of the 52, with the same width cap and barrel, the same No. 2 nib, and the clip relocated to the top of the cap. Nice condition, with excellent contrast in the ripple pattern.

The No. 2 Waterman nib is very fine, and flexible. It's not overly soft -- it takes some pressure to get it to its maximum width, and it can be used without shading quite easily. But it's capable of significant line variation. It's excellent for pointed-pen calligraphy styles like copperplate or spencerian.See the writing samples.

Lever filler, restored and working with a new sac installed. Length about4 3/8 inches.

ITEM 2018

The writing samples are made using the pen itself, dipped inParker Quink blackink. The paper is a Rhodia pad with 5mm squares.
