The book is a very detailed and practical machine gun training handbook, with information on the Vickers .303 heavy machine gun and the more portable Lewis Gun. it is very well illustrated throughout, with numerous diagrams, line drawings, fold-outs and photographs.
The book includesadvertisements for officers trench equipment, with details of popular brands of luminous watches, trench-coats and even dummy machine guns (available in 1916 at £8 each).

Condition:
In very good condition. The boards show signs of wear and use, with a few marks. The binding and hinges are good and secure, the front hinge having been carefully reinforced with archival paper tape. The text is in very goodcondition.There are some marks to the rear endpapers.
