WW2 Croatian Paratrooper Badge - German Luftwaffe Ally -
     
Liquidating the estate of a local closet collector, so watch this space. This is a WW2 Croatian Paratrooper Badge with a very nice patina.
   
Badge is approx 2" tall x 1 9/16" wide, die struck vaulted construction, with red/white/blue enameling. The design is of a diving eagle (they trained with the Germans, so it is designed after the WW2 German Fallschirmjager design) with a shield at the top reading "NDH" (for the Independent State of Fascist Croatia) and a Croatian checkerboard shield at the bottom.   
   
Some of the forums are speculating that post-war commemorative strikes of this badge were made.
