Watson & Sons, \'\'Alpha No.2\'\' plate camera kit with 3 double dark slides, original case and Beck lens, which may be of interest to collectors.This model available from circa 1895 being I believe an uncommon version of the type.Marked, \'\'W. Watson & Sons, Manufacturers, 31 High Holborn, London\'\' to an ivorene plaque on the base plate and a \'Sands Hunter & Co\' retailers label to the upper box panel.The ground glass screen size is 5\'\' x 4\'\'. The camera is stamped with serial number \'\'11773\'\' (see photo). The deeply polished mahogany body with no faults or losses and the plum leather bellows in good condition with no splits or damage.Clearly made with the highest quality materials and with the usual Watson refinement of dovetail joints and the brass screw slots all set in the same plane.The lens is marked, Beck Convertible Double Aplanat f 7.7 6\'\' , the element of which may benefit from a clean.The Bausch & Lomb shutter operating perfectly at various aperture settings.
