The front of the scabbard throat is marked "U.S." in ordnance bomb.Description: The blade is 9.75" long, the OAL is 14 3/8". The U.S. initially used M1905 bayonets as they were or were salvaged from old parts and assembled with a full 16" blade or cut down spear point / knife edge was applied. This one was made by American Fork & Hoe and not cut down from an older item.
Overall Condition:The blade was partially re-ground at some point, the metal has oxidation and a few heavy marks but about 30% original finish. The guard and pommel have slightly heavier marks, the black plastic grips are damaged with the right grip repaired. They remain secure. The lug works properly. The scabbard is repainted and in only Fair condition. Please see our pictures for a better understanding of the condition.
