Players assume the role of Captain James T. Kirk, commanding the Enterprise through a series of missions involving strange planets, alien races, starships, and space stations. Gameplay alternates between the Enterprise bridge and landing-party adventures. On planetary missions, the game uses an easy-to-operate mouse-driven point-and-click icon interface, allowing players to examine objects, communicate with characters, use equipment, solve puzzles, and determine how each mission unfolds. In space, players control the Enterprise's phasers, photon torpedoes, shields, navigation, communications, and other ship systems.
Featured Original Series Characters Include:
- Captain James T. Kirk – Captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise and primary player character
- Commander Spock – First Officer and Science Officer
- Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy – Chief Medical Officer and regular member of the landing party
- Lt. Commander Montgomery "Scotty" Scott – Chief Engineer responsible for repairs and power systems
- Lt. Hikaru Sulu – Helmsman responsible for ship maneuvering and orbital operations
- Lt. Uhura – Communications Officer

An excellent collectible for Star Trek fans, vintage computer enthusiasts, MS-DOS gamers, IBM/Tandy collectors, and big-box PC game collectors. The title is frequently cataloged today by retro-game preservation sites as an early DOS/abandonware-era classic, although modern licensed digital versions are also commercially available.
Condition
Star Trek Game Box/Contents are considered to be in very strict (Fine+ Plus! C7.5)condition overall with some general wear, 3.5" inch floppy discs have not been tested but look superb. Original box is in decent shape with noticeable shelf wear and some tape residue on the front and is completely intact as photos depict the actual item. All items come from a pet‑free and smoke‑free, environmentally controlled facility.
