Macintosh Plus Hardware Info
This Macintosh Plus shows obvious signs of heavy physical damage, and age. The front frame is also held together with epoxy.
However, this unit has some working parts, and mostly tested good with a functional analog board, which was temporarily pulled from another working Macintosh Plus (not available for sale):
- ✅ Mainboard was functional when tested with the included System 6.0.8 floppy disk. It also tested good in another Macintosh Plus,
- ✅ CRT display and brightness was functional with good geometry,
- ⚠️ Floppy disk drive reads/writes and boots floppy disks OK, but eject mechanism is very temperamental, and may often cause floppy disks to get stuck in the drive,
- ❌ With the original analog board, the system displays a mostly black screen with distorted lines, and does not boot,
- ❌ With the additional analog board, the system did not boot at all (prior to removing the flyback transformer),
- 🔧 Both analog boards were partially recapped,
- ⭐️ One of the logic board cables came with a +5V 2-pin header wired in—potentially for an internal fan.
This Macintosh Plus was to be repaired/restored, and/or repurposed as a testbench for parts, but it's been sitting in a box unused for almost 2 years, now.
