Lenovo warranties are easily transferable from user to user. It does not require no action from you at all. Lenovo warranties are linked to a serial number not a person. If you have to file a claim, you just need the serial number which is on the laptop or you can have the serial be auto detected on Lenovo website when filing a claim.
