This 100G QSFP28 to 4×25G SFP28 Passive Breakout Direct Attach Copper Cable connects one supported 100G QSFP28 switch port to four separate 25G SFP28 server or network adapter ports.
The large QSFP28 connector is programmed with Cisco compatible EEPROM coding. The four smaller SFP28 connectors use Intel EEPROM coding and are individually labeled 1, 2, 3 and 4 for easier channel identification.
This cable uses different third-party compatibility programming at each end:
• QSFP28 end: For Cisco 100G QSFP28 equipment
• Four SFP28 ends: For Intel 25G SFP28 TO FOUR INDEPENDENT 25G LANES
The QSFP28 connector carries four independent 25Gbps lanes from a supported 100G port.
• 1 × 100G QSFP28 connector
• 4 × 25G SFP28 connectors
• Up to 100Gbps total line rate
• Up to 25Gbps per SFP28 One 100G QSFP28 connector to four 25G SFP28 connectors
• Up to 25Gbps per branch

• Breakout mode must be enabled and configured on the switch before the four 25G links can operate.
• The four smaller connectors are 25G SFP28 connectors, not ordinary 10G SFP+ connectors.
• The four SFP28 ends use Intel-specific coded connectors.
• This cable does not convert unsupported protocols or port speeds.
• You may send the exact switch and network adapter models through Messages before ordering for a compatibility check.
