The compatibility of this expansion board is mainly reflected in two aspects:

1. Compatible driver modules:

·A4988: Suitable for most 42 stepper motors.

·DRV8825: Supports higher subdivision and current, may have lower operating noise, but requires better heat dissipation.

·A stepper motor driver module compatible with other pin arrangements.

2. Compatible main control board:

·In theory, any 3D printer control board (such as RAMPS 1.4, MKS Gen L, SKR series, etc.) can be used as long as it has idle motor drive interfaces (STEP/DIR pins) that can be connected to the expansion board.

·It requires firmware support from the main control board (such as Marlin, Klipper) to correctly identify and control the newly added motor.

Precautions for use

1. Set the current correctly. Each driver module (A4988/DRV8825) plugged into the expansion board needs to use a small screwdriver to individually set its Vref value to match the rated current of the connected motor. The current setting is too small, and the motor force is insufficient; If the current is set too high, the motor will overheat severely.

2. Ensure sufficient heat dissipation:

·The A4988 and DRV8825 modules generate heat during operation, especially under high current and low fineness conditions.

·Heat sinks must be installed for each driver module! Without a heat sink, the driver module may enter a thermal protection state within a few minutes due to overheating, causing the motor to stop working.

3. Firmware configuration:

·After installing this expansion board, the firmware of the 3D printer (such as Marlin) must be modified.
