Available for your consideration is an Apple Macintosh DOS Compatibility card (820-0617-B) for LC, Quadra and Performa desktop computers. These originally shipped in the LC 630, Quadra 630 and Performa 640 (DOS compatible versions) but will work in many others that use a 68040 CPU and a pull-out CPU tray.
These cards support MS-DOS versions 6.0 and higher as well as Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. At least 16MB of RAM is recommended for best performance running Windows 95, and I've found that 32MB is even better, the "sweet spot", at least on my own LC 630 DOS machine.
These DOS compatibility cards are equipped with a 66MHz Cyrix CPU, equivalent to an Intel 486 DX2. Some people have upgraded these as high as 100MHz DX4, but this breaks compatibility with Windows 95 for some reason. There are lots of good articles online about swapping CPUs on these cards. At the same time, they work great if just left alone like they shipped from Apple.

The DOS Compatibility Card is a two-board assembly that installs in both the CPU socket and the LC PDS slot.

Unlike the Houdini II card used in the Power Macintosh 6100, the 630's DOS card shares the Mac's video port directly, simplifying cable management.
