Apple released this alongside the original iPad in 2010: a full-size anodized aluminum keyboard with an integrated charging cradle, built to turn a first-generation iPad into a desk workstation. It was discontinued when Apple moved to the Lightning connector, and Apple has never made another one like it.
WHAT IT IS
Full-size Apple aluminum keyboard with low-profile keys and an integrated 30-pin dock cradle. The dedicated function row gives one-touch access to Home, Spotlight search, screen brightness, Picture Frame mode, the on-screen keyboard toggle, media transport controls, volume, and screen lock.
PORTS
A rear 30-pin connector lets you run power from a USB power adapter, sync to a computer, or attach period accessories such as the iPad Camera Connection Kit or the Dock Connector to VGA Adapter. A 3.5mm audio jack sends line-out to a stereo or powered speakers. Audio cable and power adapter are not included.
COMPATIBILITY — READ BEFORE BUYING
Fits iPad 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation only. These are the 30-pin iPads. This dock will NOT work with any Lightning or USB-C iPad, and no adapter will make it work. The dock holds the iPad in portrait orientation only, and the iPad must be bare — the cradle will not seat with a case installed.

MPN reference: this model was sold under both MC533LL/A and MC533LL/B. The two are physically identical and the unit itself is stamped only A1359, so I am not claiming one suffix over the other.
