Bell & Howell Apple II Plus Computer cleaned, tested and working This listing is for a Bell & Howell Apple II Plus as shown. We have gone through this computer tested it and cleaned it.
The keyboard has been disassembled the board and all keycaps were cleaned, a few key switches that were not working correctly were replaced with working key switches. All switches have the black stems. We tested each key multiple times and all the keys work and register as they should. I would say the keyboard itself feels pretty good to type on.
We opened and inspected the power supply and everything looks good. We did replace the RIFA cap and tested the power supply, it works well.
Physically it has several scratches, some deep, the worst is on the front right, I tried to show in the photos. Please look over all the photos to make sure you are happy with the condition, and everything that is included. The black really shows the scratches. I tried to show the deepest scratches. Some of the keys have text that is more yellow (6, A, X, I, and the arrow keys) where the rest are white. I'm not sure why this would be. One of the screws on the bottom appears to have broken off at some point (see the last picture). I did not try to remove the stuck screw. Nothing else appears to be cracked or broken. It's clear this is not all original, some parts have been replaced and/or upgraded over the years. Please note: the monitor shown is not included and it does not include any software.
This comes with the language card shown for a total of 64K or RAM, and a Disk II Interface card, but no floppy drives are included.
This will ship with the cards removed so nothing is damaged in shipping, so please make sure you are capable of installing these. While this computer is currently working, this is over 40 years old and as such you may expect it to need some work.
