This is a replacement front panel door for the Commodore 1702 monitor.
One of the problems with older tech is that things don't last forever. One of the common issues with the beloved Commodore 1702 monitor is that the hinges on the door for the controls likes to break, usually in a way that loses bits and is difficult to fix. Look online and you will see a lot of listings where the door is just missing entirely. This is a replacement door for the folks that want to see their monitor whole again.
This is a new door, designed from scratch. There are some modifications to make it a but more durable than the original design. The fit has been painstakingly tweaked to have a satisfying close. While matching color on retro hardware is always a challenge, they are matched as well as plastic that can be sourced. For those that are feeling non conformist, but still dislike dust, basic black is also available.
Note: This part has been designed and tested for the NTSC version of the 1702. It may work on the 1701 but I have not personally been able to test it. This will *NOT* work for the PAL version of the monitor as it is a different size. If I can get my hands on one I will offer that as well.
