Up for sale is a dell latitude d820 laptop with a recent fresh install of windows 2000 sp4 dual boot with windows 10.
specs:
-dell latitude d820-15.4 inch screen-90 watt power supply included. battery NOT included.-ich7-m motherboard-core 2 duo t5500 cpu - new thermal paste applied not too long ago-4 GB ram ( limited to 2 GB in windows 2000 for better stability )-gma 945 express graphics - a copper shim is now used for the heatsink portion of the gpu instead of the thermal sponge piece-samsung 860 evo 250 GB solid state drive - 119 GB partition size for windows 2000 ( about 114 GB free ), 112 GB partition size for windows 10, ( about 86 GB free ). NOTE - the pictures show drives in file explorer as accessible, however, i had removed the ability to do so in attempt to fix another issue which didn't end up working ( explained further down below ).-dvd optical drive - tested working for dvd+rw and cd-rw disc.-dell wireless 1490 wireless adapter - tested working, supports up to wpa 2 connection.-Operating system - windows 2000 sp4 ( qashqai build ) + windows 10 dual boot-office 2003 standard installed
Important info / misc. / problems found:
-1 broken / jammed usb port. the rest of the usb ports were tested working.-if removing charger from laptop after even just a short amount of time, it will mention invalid configuration error. the keyboard will not respond right away, you'll need to give it maybe a few minutes, then you'll be able to enter bios to enter some basic information, like date / time, misc. settings, and then it should work fine from there, but the process will need to be repeated if removing the charger from the laptop...-very slow on windows 10, simple tasks can lag several seconds before responding. very modern files like jpeg-xl will take a extremely long time to load. youtube was able to manage playable framerates at up to 480p settings with the h.264 ify addon with google chrome.-if re-installing windows 2000, you may need to wait 10-15 minutes if cmd scripts stall out during the setup phase where it shows the desktop background. then shut off system, it should then be able to boot into desktop on next reboot.-partition state was modified to hide partition on both os in an attempt to fix chkdsk triggering every time windows 2000 was used and restarting to windows 10, however, i could not workaround this issue. it appears related to NTFS on windows 2000 partition creating a "dirty" state bug with windows 10 that can only be fixed with repairs with the automatic chkdsk feature. if the windows 2000 is re-created with fat32, then it's possible to avoid this problem, albeit with some disadvantages over NTFS, however, i have not been able to test this on windows 2000 yet, so the current state is that it will boot into both os, but only if you allow the chkdsk to do it's work every time it asks. if you skip it, then when selecting windows 2000 ( earlier version of windows ), it will boot to BSOD.-minor mistake, but i accidentally used d810 reference for computer name instead of d820.-sound tested working.-Gom player 2.1.43.5119 installed + combined community codec pack 2015 - tested working for mp3, mp4 files ( h.264 and some h.265 ), avi, .mov, etc.-Irfanview 4.58 - unofficial support - some plugins not working / optional were removed. some file formats may only be working because of extended kernel v29b installed. list of file formats tested working include cr2, cr3, jpg, jpeg, gif, tga, psd, webp, tiff, png, jpeg2000, etc.
Other notes:
I recommend using windows 2000 for as much stuff as you can, as windows 10 lacks official driver support for dell latitude d820 and overall performs very poorly with it. The advantage is that windows 10 will have better compatibility for modern websites and some modern content, but will be overall slower in various areas.

-windows 2000 sp4 installation disc ( YSI_Win2kPro_R3.3_DEV-TEST-processr.iso )-windows 10 installation media customized and trimmed to fit onto a dvd disc ( 3.32 GB size of iso )-windows 2000 + windows 10 related stuff cd-rw disc - contains previous updates, programs such as office 2003, irfanview 4.58, gom player, checklists / guides for setting up windows and other things, drivers, as well as some add ons / codecs for windows 10.
