Both cards were bench tested with their cache modules installed. Screenshots of every step are in the photos.

• Both enumerate correctly in the PERC BIOS Configuration Utility.
• Both report 0 virtual drives, so there is no leftover array configuration from my systems.
• Both were reset to factory defaults.
• PERC 5/i firmware: package 7.0.1-0083, FW 1.12.330-1300, BIOS MT33, CtrlR 1.04-019A, Boot Block R.2.3.15.
• PERC 5/E firmware: package 5.2.1-0066.

The battery hardware is missing or malfunctioning, or the battery is unplugged, or the battery could be fully discharged. If you continue to boot the system, the battery-backed cache will not function.

History & Condition

• Never run in a Dell server. I ran these for 10+ years of continuous service in standard AMD Athlon XP builds in 3U rack cases, in ordinary PCI Express slots on consumer motherboards. If you are wondering whether a PERC works outside Dell hardware, these already did, for over a decade.
• Retired only because I consolidated those arrays onto a single modern NAS. Nothing failed.
• Cosmetic aging and flux residue on the solder side, which is normal for cards of this age. See the photos; I have shown both sides rather than only the flattering one.
• No bent pins, no cracked components. Card edge connectors cleaned.
• Every photo is of the actual items you will receive.
• Sold as a lot of two cards, as-is, with no returns.
