After 30 years, it is difficult to disassemble these for repair, without shattering into pieces.Case has the reliefs in place for the electrical connectors, including the slots needed for the contacts to pass through.You will need to transfer those components into the new case. My image shows original cells and charging circuit installed in the case. And I have fitted it into my 800CT with good results and function. You will see an image of all the stuff inside the battery box, with some new 18650s for another rebuild project. Others have replaced the 18650 cells with 2 lithium polymer cells sold for RC cars. The 18650's are wired as 2S2P. If using LiPo 2S will work, and they will charge from the original controller!.The original cell has a double sided tape on them, as well as the thin black foam tape, to keep things secure.I sincerely hope this product will be useful to the community.
