For sale is a Lenovo/IBM laptop model T61 with a 15" 16:10 aspect widescreen LCD. Max resolution on the panel is 1680x1050. The item has mild wear and tear/cosmetic damage from regular use including some scuff marks around the bezel/frame, but is otherwise in very pristine and clean shape despite its age (the black matte paint has even held up on the keyboard/palm rest). As was common for IBM ThinkPad-branded products, the unit has a premium weight and quality feel to it that is unmatched among its contemporaries, and we've even gone through the trouble of exchanging out the old rubber trackpoint with a fresh, newly knurled nub.Internally, both the primary and CMOS batteries have been replaced as recently as January of this year (2026). The laptop has been upgraded with a 240GB Kingston SSD (solid state drive) running 64-bit Windows 11 Pro version 23H2 with its most recent updates as of this listing. The CPU is an Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 clocked at 2GHz, and it is running with two 4GB RAM sticks in a dual-channel configuration. It has Nvidia integrated graphics with 128MB of VRAM, and is Wi-fi and Bluetooth enabled. As far as external media, the laptop has a fully functioning CD/DVD optical drive, a PCMCIA slot that supports USB 3.0 or other add-on cards, a front-facing SD-card reader, and three onboard USB 2.0 ports. All drivers have been installed correctly, with no issues or alerts regarding missing or non-functional devices. Also included is an official Lenovo OEM charger with its original cable. The BIOS on this system has been upgraded with Middleton's 2.29 firmware to allow for greater SATA (storage) and CPU speed. As for software (see the screenshot of desktop shortcuts), installed on the laptop are several useful applications such as a complete suite of Microsoft Office 2007, fully accessible without the need of a subscription, and Adobe Reader X from back before it was bogged down by ads and bloatware. It has a fully functional Firefox browser pre-installed with UBlock Origin for blocking ads/tracking, VLC media player, and system utilities like HardwareInfo64, CPU-Z, and more. Windows 11 Pro is genuine and activated. In the Documents folder, we've included copies of several of the driver installation files and we also installed the classic IBM timezone wallpaper for flavor. This a solid laptop if you just need something for convenient web browsing and office work. It has been tested thoroughly, and has been set up to work for you fresh and ready out of the box. The SSD and RAM upgrades keep it kicking and viable for most modern general-use applications like social media, web searches, productivity work, and basically anything but high-end modern gaming and advanced design software that wasn't made to support a +20-year old machine. We'll gladly take any questions, and try to provide help as needed. Thanks for looking!
