A dual-port 40 Gigabit Ethernet adapter for servers, workstations, NAS and virtualization hosts. The XL710-QDA2 is Intel's 700 Series (Fortville) QSFP+ card: two 40GbE ports on a PCIe 3.0 x8 interface, backward compatible with 10GbE through a QSFP+ to 4×SFP+ breakout cable, with hardware offloads for SR-IOV, VXLAN / GENEVE overlays, Flow Director and DPDK packet processing.

A full-height or low-profile bracket is needed to secure it in a chassis.
Cooling – The card uses a passive heatsink. Server chassis airflow is ideal; in a desktop or workstation, keep a case fan blowing across it.
Optics – Intel 700 Series firmware checks QSFP+ module coding. Intel-coded or Intel-compatible transceivers / DAC cables are recommended.
Slot – Needs a PCIe x8 or x16 slot for full bandwidth. It works in x4 slots at reduced throughput.
4×10GbE mode – Breakout operation is set with Intel's Ethernet Port Configuration Tool (EPCT). Shipping Ships from South Korea by EMS (Korea Post) with tracking.
