The LSI SAS 9300-16i is a high-performance internal SAS/SATA Host Bus Adapter based on the Broadcom/LSI SAS3008 controller. It provides 16 internal storage lanes and is designed for servers, NAS systems, storage workstations and software-defined storage platforms.

The adapter supports 12Gb/s SAS and SATA 6Gb/s storage devices, including enterprise SAS hard drives, SATA hard drives, SAS SSDs and SATA SSDs. It features four internal Mini-SAS HD SFF-8643 connectors, with each connector providing four storage lanes for a total of 16 internal drive connections.
