READ THIS FIRSTThree high-hour enterprise drives, with 60334 to 60849 power-on hours. Each had a nonzero grown-defect list before the September 22, 2026 FORMAT UNIT operation: 1, 6 and 4, respectively. Formatting reset those lists to zero, but that reset does not prove the previously recorded defect locations were repaired. See per-serial history below. These are used drives with real mileage and a documented defect history; SMART status and sample reads do not predict remaining life.
CURRENT POST-FORMAT READINGSCaptured September 22, 2026. All three report SMART health OK and zero uncorrected read, write and verify errors. Each currently reports 0 in its grown-defect list. The drives report 3.00 TB, 512-byte logical blocks, 7200 RPM and SAS; Type 2 T10 protection information is disabled.

FORMAT AND READBACKAll three completed a full-length zero overwrite before the September 22 PI format change. After reformat, direct reads at the beginning, midpoint and end returned zero data. Those are sample reads only; no full-surface write/read test was repeated after reformat. The format logs do not record a completion time or elapsed duration.
