Personally Owned • Securely Wiped • SMART Tested • Carefully Packed
You are buying four used Western Digital WD Re WD3000FYYZ 3TB enterprise-class SATA hard drives.
These drives have been the keepers of my personal data for many years, and I took care of them accordingly. They are not drives pulled from an unknown corporate server or data center. They are being retired from my server because my storage needs have changed.
Here is a summary table of their age and usage history.
Serial Number Label Date Power-On Hours Avg. Hours/Year Avg. Hours/Day % of 24/7 Runtime Power Cycles WCC131515272 Oct. 1, 2015 22,819 2,084 5.7 23.8% 1,046 WCC131537073 Oct. 1, 2015 24,021 2,194 6.0 25.0% 163 WCC130789534 Oct. 30, 2015 22,671 2,086 5.7 23.8% 1,044 WCC13PSLHNPE Aug. 13, 2014 30,746 2,545 7.0 29.0% 174
Based on the dates printed on their labels, these drives have accumulated about 22,700-30,700 power-on hours. That averages to about 5.7-7.0 powered-on hours per calendar day, or approximately 23.8%-29.0% of continuous 24/7 operation.
The drives have 163-1,046 lifetime power cycles.
Prepared for Sale with Care
Before listing them, I did the following with each drive:
1. Three-Pass Full-Drive Overwrite - Each drive was completely overwritten three times, with random data, all 1s and finally all 0s. I did this primarily to securely destroy my personal data, but it also means the entire writable surface of each drive was exercised before SMART testing and being offered for sale.
2. SMART Testing - I ran a SMART report on each drive under Linux. Any drive showing even a single reallocated sector or reallocation event was excluded from sale. Their SMART reports are included so you can evaluate the actual recorded usage and condition yourself rather than simply taking my word for it.
The drives being sold show:
•0 Reallocated Sectors •0 Reallocated Events •0 Current Pending Sectors •0 Offline Uncorrectable Sectors •0 UDMA CRC Errors •SMART Health: PASSED
3. Printed SMART Report Included - I printed the SMART report for each individual drive. The report will be folded and included with that drive so you have a physical record of its condition at the time it was tested.
4. Packed in a New Anti-Static Bag - Each drive is individually sealed in a new anti-static bag.
5. Individually Protected for Shipping - Each drive will be individually wrapped in bubble wrap and packed with at least 1 inch of protective foam around all sides of the shipping box.
Finally
I have tried to give the next owner as much information as possible about exactly what they are buying: where the drives came from, how they were used, how they were tested, and how they will be packed.
Thank you for considering the purchase.
Note: The date displayed at the top of each SMART summary is the date I performed the test. It is NOT the date printed on the drive label. The label date for each drive is shown in the table above.
Three of these drive labels are marked "Recertified." For those drives, the dates shown in the table are the dates printed on the Western Digital labels and should not be interpreted as confirmed original manufacture dates.
