What does it do?
It lets a **Nintendo GameCube load games or data from a microSD (TF) card** instead of an original disc.
What it actually does, depending on the device:
* **Game loading**: Reads game ISOs/ROM backups from a microSD and feeds them to the GameCube as if they were coming from the disc drive (examples: SD2SP2, SD Gecko variants, ODE-related readers).
* **Homebrew access**: Loads Swiss or other homebrew to bypass region lock, force video modes, use cheats, or manage saves.
* **Disc drive bypass / supplement**: Some setups reduce or eliminate reliance on the optical drive, which is a common failure point.
Important clarifications:
* The **reader itself doesn’t emulate games**. It’s just storage + interface.
* You still need **boot software** (Swiss, exploit save, modchip, etc.).
* “TF card” is just another name for **microSD**.
In short: it’s a storage interface that enables digital game loading and homebrew on the GameCube.
