Note: Realtek LAN chip would require installation ofos-realtek-re plugin for Opnsense to work.Alternatively, virtualization using Proxmox is an option for Opnsense. Create a network bridge in Proxmox and use that in Opnsense (do not passthrough). My current home router/firewall is a Mini PC with Realtek LAN controllers. I have absolutely no issues running Opnsense in a VM over Proxmox.
