About this Build:Of all my builds, this one hits the sweet spot between compatibilityand speed. The Quadro FX 3800 video card (installed as GTX 260), combined with a 128 GB solid state hard drive and a Pentium Dual-Core Ivy Bridge CPU provides a machine capable of playing even the latest XP-era games with respectable performance while still retaining compatibilitywith many older DirectX 8-era titles . I installed WHQL driver version 180 as this was the last driver with GTX 260 support that didn't also have Quadro support, so the card shows up in both the device manager and in software as an actual GeForce GT-200 series card. This also works great with MSI Afterburner 1.6.1 which I have installed and set up a stock and 2 overclock profiles (The lower o/c being set as default on boot).Max Temperature measured on the GPU when stress-testing with the highest o/c setting was 64C.
OS/Software:The operating system is 32-bit Windows XP Professional, SP3. Installed software includes .net 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5 framework, Visual C++ 2005, 2008, 2010, and 2015 Redistributables, VLC media player, Firefox v52, Supermium (Google Chrome v124 port for XP for modern web browsing). All drivers are installed, and the machine is completely ready to go right out of the box. Also 3dMark05 which I use to stress-test each build before shipping.
