Mid-Century Modern Raspberry Pi 5 Enclosure
The low, wide enclosure features a bright matte red shell with matte black front and rear panels, a recessed ventilated grille, Raspberry Pi logo, and four short angled legs. The result recalls the proportions of vintage tabletop electronics while remaining purpose-built around the Raspberry Pi 5.
The Pi mounts to a dedicated slide-in sled carried on a captured dovetail-style rail inside the enclosure. The removable front panel uses a similar rail system, along with press-fit retention and a concealed magnet. A discreet release point allows the front panel to be removed when access is needed.
The rear I/O panel is press-fit into place and may be further secured using the included M4-0.7 x 10 mm hex socket set screws. Decorative side retention pieces provide an additional mechanical locking method while serving as exterior finials. The Pi mounting sled can likewise be secured from the underside with an optional grub screw.
Rambutan is designed for the Raspberry Pi 5 and incorporates substantial passive ventilation throughout the enclosure. While there is no dedicated mount for an external case fan, the enclosure provides ample vertical clearance above the Pi for a wide variety of official and aftermarket active cooling systems.
A functional dovetail accessory rail is also built into the underside of the case. This interface is intended for a forthcoming Gachafruit Studio enclosure for standard 2.5-inch SSDs. The SSD module will be offered separately, and the printable model is planned to be released free of charge for those who prefer to make their own.
